Working Together

Data shows that the rapport you have with your therapist will affect the outcome of your therapy. Therapists will have different styles, approaches, and will have varying levels of experience. It’s important to find someone you feel comfortable with.

Take some time to think about the following to see if my practice speaks to you:

  • You like a direct, compassionate approach

My style of therapy is nurturing, open, and non-judgmental, but also focused and results driven. Through a unique combination of professional training and real-life experiences, I can support you in exploring whatever it is that’s stopping you from feeling more in balance and having more ease in your life.

  • You’re ready to commit to therapy

Though it varies, you’ll need to expect to attend regularly scheduled appointments. Together you and I will create a custom treatment plan that will reflect your personal needs.

  • You’re willing to put in the work toward growth

Clients of mine must be willing to set and work toward goals, put in the emotional effort, and be able to see the bigger picture. I tell my clients that therapy is similar to going to the gym: consistency is key.

  • Your insurance and therapy

All of my sessions are paid for at the time of service. I process credit card payments through a HIPPA secure platform called Ivy Pay. I am out of network for all insurance companies with the exception of Coastal. All insurance claims are to be submitted by the client and invoices are available upon request.

Treatment

Before you start treatment, here’s a snapshot of how things will flow. You’ll know what to expect before you begin and what happens after therapy stops.

The First Session

Therapy begins with me getting to know you and what brought you here. There will be a lot of questions but you have control of where the conversation will go. We’ll start setting goals so you can begin to see the bigger picture.

Ongoing Sessions

Weekly sessions typically start by checking in to see how your week went—did you face any reoccurring issues, challenges, or experience an aha moment where you were able to implement what you learned? From there, we will focus on your goals, the bigger picture, any key points, and take a look at how your weekly experiences impacted your growth.

Concluding Therapy

There are a few reasons why therapy might end.

  • You met your goals. Time to celebrate! If you need support again in the future, you’re always welcome to schedule a new appointment.

  • You’re missing appointments on a regular basis.

  • One of us decides we’re not a good fit. It’s okay to tell me if you feel that way.

  • If you’re facing challenges that are outside of my scope, I’ll do my best to assist you in finding a therapist that could be a better fit.
